What I do.
Why I do it.
How I do it.
What I do.
Why I do it.
How I do it.
Hi! I am Prathamesh
I am an engineer turned product designer
(why?)
. Alongside work I spend my
time playing chill chess, free writing, watching F1, chatting about design with my dev friends, or petting cats. I’m also into the technicalities of automobiles and love riding my bike on crisp, cool days.
I am always curious
about how humans interact with machines, and I’m intrigued by the intersection
of art and technology. Fashion, architecture, computer systems, psychology, I
consume everything related to design
(why?)
. I take my work seriously, with
sincerity and a strong sense of ownership. I enjoy building ideas with
people who show high agency and dedication.
I can be a bit reserved
during first meetings, but once we connect, I make sure every conversation is
worth both of our time. I prefer keeping my social circle small but meaningful.
I worked as a frontend engineer
for 2 years, before design, building with Next.js, React and Javascript while
completing my degree in computer engineering. I believe my dev background
still shapes the way I think today. For me, design isn’t just a process I follow, it’s
basically how I think and also an integral part of my mindset
(why?)
.
I am always learning
because "the more your know, the more you know you don't"
Why did I shift from dev to design?
Before switching to design, I worked as a frontend engineer for two years, building SaaS dashboards and web apps while finishing my computer engineering degree.
I’ve always been into art and music (I play guitar too), and I’ve always loved coding and tech. After some time as a developer, I wanted to explore my creative side also while solving real problems that matter to real people.
For me, product design is that perfect mix of creativity, technology, and understanding human behaviour. Looking back, switching to design was definitely the right call.
